In November 2016, some of the service users went on holiday to Blackpool accompanied by four support workers.
The service users were very excited about the train ride. They were responsible for their own luggage and chose their seats on the train, enjoyed the view, reading or listening to music during the trip. We drank tea and soft drink with snacks for lunch.
When we arrived we waited for a minibus that would take us to The Bond Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very comfortable and it had everything needed for the service users. Very good breakfast and dinner every day - always varying the menus. In the evenings the entertainment was fantastic - dancing, bingo, raffles and karaoke.
On the second day we went to Madame Tussauds. We had a great time and we took lots of pictures with all the characters and completed the games we had along the way, then we went to The Buccaneer to eat and drink in Coral Island to play. After dinner we enjoyed nice cabaret.
On the third day we went to Ripleys extraordinary world but it was closed due to the time of year so we changed plans and went to the South Pier and then we went to the Wetherspoons to drink hot chocolate. After dinner we enjoyed the fun karaoke.
On the fourth day we went to Sea Life. We took many pictures of different sea animals and completed the games we had along the way, then we went to The Buccaneer to eat and drink and Coral Island to play. After dinner we enjoyed a visit from Santa Claus "Ho Ho Ho!!"
The fifth day although we did not want the holiday to end we were very happy and we started already thinking about the next destination!!
The summary of Lundie House's 2016 holiday is that it was fun, fast and unforgettable and we have all enjoyed it very much and although it rained almost every day, this did not stop us from having a fun packed holiday.
